German language class (Palo Alto)
Willkommen! Welcome! Learn to speak, read, and write German, with an emphasis on conversation. In the highly effective and relaxed atmosphere of this beginning language class, students engage in lively and productive conversation practice, utilizing the German they have learned in class. Basic grammar is explained. Students also learn about the rich culture of Germanic countries and learn to sing a German beer-drinking song! The experienced, college-credentialed teacher lived and studied in Germany through Stanford University, from where she later earned a Master's Degree. The instructor has had more than 20 years of experience sharing with students the joy of learning German. This course is ideal for those wanting basic communication skills for use with friends and relatives and/or for business travel, and everyday purposes.
